Sean Connery - Click to enlarge

The Film: Dr. No, the very first James Bond film adventure introduces us to Sean Connery's terrific portrayal of James Bond. It is a more low key adventure than many of the later Bond's, but it firmly establishes the James Bond formula and style. The location work in Jamaica is stunning, as is Monty Norman's James Bond Theme music.

The Poster: Here, I have gone for a striking shot of Sean Connery in his most cold blooded scene in a James Bond film. Also included are many members of the cast, reflected in the gunbarrel, one of the most memorable Bond traditions initiated in Dr. No.

The Poster: Now, a new rendition of this classic film. I tried to create a 60s sort of feel with this one. The lettering that I have used for much of the text on this poster is a font that reminded me of the first edition of the book.

The Film: From Russia With Love, my favourite James Bond film, is a solid, taut cold war thriller. Sean Connery's portrayal of Bond is more refined and John Barry's first Bond score adds much atmosphere to the film. Istanbul was a great location and the scenes on the Orient express are great as well. The fight scene between Bond and Grant in the train cabin is one of the greatest fight scenes in history.

The Poster: With this poster I went for a cold war soviet feel. I basically wanted to add a modern edge to this classic film. The shot of Sean Connery is just terrific, and probably the most famous Bond still of all time.

The Poster: This time I wanted to create a retro feel for this poster. I tried to emulate the style of some of the great posters of the sixties and early seventies. The main focus of the imagery is the cat and mouse duel between Bond and Red Grant.
The Poster: This poster is in the same theme as my one for Dr. No - again i aimed to create a kind of 60s pulp feel to it.

The Film: Goldfinger, definitely the most famous Bond film of all time took the Bond series on a turn towards a more comic book style, with the character of Oddjob and his razor brimmed derby hat and the Aston Martin with loads of gadgets. Also, the main title theme sung by Shirley Bassey is, in my opinion, the greatest of all the Bond title songs.

The Poster: This poster was inspired by one of the posters created for 1987's The Living Daylights. It shows the three primary characters, Bond, Oddjob and Goldfinger, as well as the DB5, one of the most memorable things to come out of the film. Also, I couldn't resist including the famous scene in which Goldfinger says, "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die!".

The Poster: Another poster in my 60s retro series. Obviously, the focus here is GOLD!! Still, I had to include the Aston Martin!

The Film: Thunderball was the apex of Bond-mania in the 60s. It is a lush action packed film, with great cast and locations, but perhaps even more famous are the extensive underwater fight scenes. John Barry once again wrote a fantastic action packed score. Perhaps my favourite part of the film is Adolfo Celi's portrayal of Emilio Largo, even though his voice is dubbed by another actor.

The Poster: I went for a dark blue colour scheme for this teaser style poster. This was one of my earliest fan arts and it shows, but I still like the mood of poster.

The Poster: My 60s retro version of Thunderball, continues this little series of mine. This poster aims to emphasise the aquatic themes of the movie.

The Film: You Only Live Twice is probably my least favourite Bond film, mainly because of the far fetched aspects of the film and Sean Connery's lacklustre performance as Bond. One great performace was Tetsuro Tamba's portrayal of Tiger Tanaka. Donald Pleasence's Blofeld is good, but I preferred telly Savalas' later portrayal in OHMSS is my personal favourite.

The Poster: I tried to create a Japanese feel for this poster. Sean Connery's picture originally had him holding a cigarette, but I replaced that with a Walther PPK. Also included in the poster is the delightful autogyro Little Nellie, which is a real life design by Ken Wallis.

The Film: Diamonds Are Forever is a wild comic book ride of a Bond movie. Connery was lured back for on last film, which was set mainly in Las Vegas, and it has more of an American feel than the other Bond films. It is not a film that ranks highly with many people, but it is still a very entertaining piece of nonsense! One of the best aspects is John Barry's lush Las Vegas themed score. For a full review of the music read the article.

The Poster: The theme here is obviously. . . diamonds! This particular picture is one of my personal favourite portraits of Sean Connery as Bond. Also, the metallic style finish on the title text is inspired by one of my favourite pieces of set decoration from the film - the stainless steel tiles in Blofeld's elevator!
